10 years ago, I stepped into a ceremony that changed my life. Before entering this sacred ritual, I thought I knew something about this reality and who I was…
I was wrong.
How do you find yourself leaping off the edge, plummeting into a confrontation with ultimate truth? Thinking back on it, I had been looking for this experience my entire adult life without ever realizing it. My soul was crying out for something real.
And I found what I was searching for. Through a series of coincidences, I was guided to a plant medicine out of the Amazon called Ayahuasca that is believed by native shamans to be a portal into the spirit world. A way for us to see past the illusion of our programming and heal ourselves of any physical or mental dis-ease.
The ceremony purified and rebirthed me anew, but that night was a humbling, disorienting and, at times, hellish experience. I came away with precious wisdom from a higher power, including a lesson that I call “The Pendulum”, that still aids me to this day.
If you would like to hear the entire story, I’ve shared the full audio version of this chapter of my new book, The Sacred Science, below:
On a personal note – this was an emotional chapter for me to read out loud at times. It’s still very real and tender to talk about. I hope it helps you on your path.
Have you pre-ordered your copy of the new Sacred Science book yet? Here’s why you should today.
The book will officially be released in two weeks on April 3rd (in hardcover, digital and audiobook formats), but we are trying to make a BIG push beforehand so the world takes notice of these powerful, but fast disappearing native traditions.
Our planet is at a tipping point, and the true aim behind this work is to show every human being alive what their hearts and minds are truly capable of – if we just remember the spirit path that our ancestors once walked.
Step forward and join us on this sacred mission.
PLUS, everyone who pre-orders their copy today will also receive a special bonus! We are giving all of our early book supporters a free ticket to our upcoming workshop on Sacred Herbalism that will be led by herbalist and wise woman Brittany Wood Nickerson.
Brittany will be doing a 90-minute deep dive that will show you how to use common herbs to: access higher consciousness, protect your soul body and manifest what you most want in your life.
(You’ll also receive a link to a replay of the Shamanic Dreaming Workshop we did last month!)
Click here to pre-order your copy today!
It’s a deep honor to be a part of this Sacred Science Tribe. Together, we can do the impossible.

Hi Nick
ayuwasca is not good, it take possession of your soul for eternity, I have seen it by many persons and by myself what a terrible plant this is,. Yes it gives you what you want, but for a very high price.
I have discovered that all the trouble in my life came from the taking ayuwasca in a life as sjamaan.
It makes a dark hole in your soul, life after life it will bring misfortune and bad luck. It destroy your family for the ages after. Sjamaan woman Marianne
I was impress hearing the audio. Your description of the ceremonie was so well spoken I felt I was in that room with you, maybe also because of previous experiences that I had in my life taking magic mushroom in the jungle in mexico and wanted to do it as a ritual experience. I felt vibration when you were doing the di di di di di di. French is my first language reading english is hard for me does your book is filled with pictures and simple reading. Thank you for answering back to me
I have pre-order a copy of the book to be delivered by Amazon on April 3. I email the receipt sometime ago and received no acknowledgement and no invitation to the workshop.
What else can I do to send you a copy of my Amazon receipt.
Marjorie
Thank you for sharing your experience. Your mission is valuable to many. Sending you love.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Its valuable and resonates deeply with anyone who has been on the journey of self discovery.
Nick
Thank you so much for the deep soul sharing. I love the resonance of your voice…it took me into the circle with you in an intimate way beyond the words. There are many excellent internet sites to explore…personally I Am selective about which and how much.
You and your team call me into my inner wisdom…perhaps because of the willingness to expose shadow however it shows up and be still with it in a vulnerable intimate way.
Heart to Heart…with gratitude
Ayahuasca has been the greatest gift of my life. For someone with a traumatic child like myself, whos will was essentially broken, mother helped me purge deep shame and know I can say I know that I am loved truly and forever. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Nick. My yage experience was not so fearful. But you did take a huge plunge with the resin. Thank you for sharing your personal journey.
Powerful.
Hello nick, thank you so much for sharing your journey, I too felt as if I were there with you. I have experienced grandmother in ceremony twice and long to return this time to truly let go.. My first experience was so scary, I stopped breathing and felt a part of me die, I was shown 2 paths.. On my left the ongoing press play and repeat of self sabotage and fear, to my right a connection to pure love and surrender. Bless you for reminding me of how strong the mind and ego is.. I have ordered your book and looks forward to reading it. Thank you to all of those Shaman and to our amazing healing spirit of medicinal plants . With love and respect tara xxx
Thank you so much Nick for sharing this story in your book! I have been following you for quite a while. I enjoy most all of your content. It has been quite a while since I have used one of those sacred herbs, so long in fact that I was almost lulled back into the “it’s not real, it’s just messing with your mind” belief. Thanks for bringing me back!
Thank you so much for the recording of the ayahuasca chapter. Really incredible stuff! I’m very much looking forward to reading Nick’s book.
Awesome
What a wonderful recount of your journey! This is very inspiring. I heard of Ayhuasca in a book called The Cosmic Serpent by Jeremy Narby when I was in an Anthropology class at Valdosta State Univ. That was 1999, and it sparked me to definitely want to try that with a shaman at some point in my life. Maybe that time is soon thanks to your audio log. Thanks.
Nick, thank you. Your words took me back to my own ceremonial experiences in the Peruvian jungle — as well as here in North America — in 2004. I experienced 13 ceremonies in that year, and haven’t done any, since. Yet… the sacred plant still lives in me, and informs my life and my practice. Your singing the icaro brought me into that moment when the ceremony begins, when the shaman is calling in the Grandmother. I could feel it, even today. Those who get to work with the indigenous people of any continent are truly fortunate… and those who get to work with Grandmother Ayahuasca are truly blessed. Thank you for your work.
Marianne Zuijdam. Sadly, you don’t know what you’re saying. You’ve been drinking this sacred liquid as curious and that’s why you haven’t reach the compreension of this Superior force. Only the Master can guide us. May the Master forgive you. Peace.
Dear Nick and Sacred Science Team,
The book is a wonderful expose of the vitality and vibrancy of the plant spirits and their ability to facilitate healing within us. Thank you for the good you do, thank you for this book which in turn has inspired me to embrace the work I must do.
Don’t know or see where to post about book – so posted under ayahuasca.
With gratitude, warmth and love,
Eddie
I am planning a trip to South America just for this purpose. Do you have any advice on how to avoid scam artist and criminals for my journey?
Hello Nick and Sacred Science, thank you for your incredible work, it is very inspirational, I have been practicing shamanism and indigenous ceremony for a long time, I hope to make it to the Pattiti institute one day to participate in the healing ceremonies, thanks for all you do to help spread the sacred knowledge, our planet needs it.
Blessings
Warren

Hi Nick!
My Hi Nick!
My 57 yr old son has done ayahuasca and now calls himself a shaman and mentor doing ceremonies for/with initiates in which I understand “plant medicines are given/taken?
However, since way back (childhood) I saw that without a doubt, he was seriously narcissistic. (dreaming of glory, feeling entitlled, lacking empathy and raging at criticism etc)
His partner is a psychotherapist who also took ayahuasca. They went to Peru to do this.
In my view my son still cannot see inside himself and is even more distanced from reality.than before! His mind is completely closed to reason as his self-proclaimed “superintelligence” knows everything better than any other human being. He is very condescending to anyone who does not put him on a pedestal and becomes revengeful.
Can it be possible that “mother ayahuasca,” sometimes does not step up to the plate? I have only ever heard positive feedback.
I am totally confused!!!
